What is Powder Coating? Powder coating is a type of dry coating, which is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. The main difference between conventional liquid paint and powder coating is that powder coating does not require a solvent to keep the binder and filler parts in a liquid suspension form. The coating is typically sprayed with an electrostatic corona gun that imparts a negative electric charge to the powder which is then attracted to a grounded metal object and is then placed under heat to allow it to flow and cure to form a strong bond with any steel or aluminum substrate.
